Facing the celebrated Broad Street in Ludlow, The Buttercross occupies the site of the High Cross which marked the original centre of the walled town. It was built 1743-46 by William Baker of Audlem, and its upper rooms were previously used as a charity school for boys and now house Ludlow town museum.
This view features the building's southern elevation and includes the tower of St. Laurence's church, and the ancient building of Bodenhams.
