Ludlow Castle North

Originally built by Walter de Lacy, the magnificent ruins of Ludlow Castle cover a 5 acre site overlooking the river Teme. The castle featured prominently in the English Civil War and was the seat of the Council of Marches of Wales. Historically owned by the Mortimers, and Richard, Duke of York amongst others, the ancient splendour of Ludlow Castle continues to impress both the romantic and the historian alike.
This elevation shows the western side of castle and includes the great hall, postern and north-west towers.
